From a Small Idea to a Real Project

What started as a simple gesture for a local charity became something more. Benoit enjoyed the process and began creating chocolates in a small workshop, experimenting with flavours and techniques. As more people discovered his creations, the idea of turning it into a traditional factory naturally followed.

Growing Step by Step

Over the years, Lorge Chocolatier grew steadily and created trust with its customers. The workshop moved just outside Kenmare, and a small team joined Benoit in the production. The chocolates remain handmade, using traditional methods and carefully chosen ingredients. The company now supplies shops around Ireland and serves a loyal customer base.

Sharing the Work Behind the Chocolate

Today, Lorge Chocolatier also opens its doors to visitors. Tastings and workshops are offered on-site, allowing people by reservation to see how the chocolate is made and to try making some themselves. It’s a way to share the work behind each piece and the story that brought it to life.

The Beginnings of Lorge Chocolatier

Our Master Chocolatier, Benoit Lorge, grew up in eastern France, where he trained as a pastry chef. After several years in the restaurant world, he moved to Ireland and settled in Kenmare. There, outside of his daily work, he began making chocolate, a hobby that became an amazing professional experience.
